Eminent Domain

What is it?

Eminent Domain refers to the power of the government to take private property and convert it to public use. The Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution provides that governments may only exercise this power if they provide just compensation to the property owners.

Why It Matters

Let's be frank - well established legal precedent makes it all but certain that the government can take your property via Eminent Domain.  At Peters Law, our job is to ensure you receive full and just compensation for the loss of your property.  Whether your property is a business or a home, whether it is in Levy, Marion, Sumter, or Citrus County, there's a reasonable likelihood a toll road is coming soon.  Join our email list to receive updates about the proposed toll roads.
